Doug's Take

The 1M is one of my favorite modern BMW models, as it's rare and incredibly fun to drive – and it will likely go down in history as a very special car. This particular 1M boasts a mandatory 6-speed manual transmission and some great factory equipment – including the Premium Package, 19-inch Style 359M wheels, and a limited-slip differential. Plus, it benefits from having reasonably low mileage, no major modifications, and ownership history mostly in warm-climate Nevada and Florida from new.

Highlights

THIS... is a 2011 BMW 1M, finished in Alpine White with a black interior.

• This 1M is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, and its odometer currently displays about 43,500 miles.
• The attached Carfax history report lists no mileage discrepancies in this BMW’s past. It also confirms that this coupe has been registered in Nevada and Florida until 2021.
• Factory equipment includes the Convenience Package, 19-inch Style 359M wheels, xenon headlights, leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching, heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, a Harman/Kardon surround sound system, and a navigation system, among others listed below. The sole modification reported by the selling dealer is black kidney grilles.
• The M version of BMW's 1 Series coupe, called E82 internally, was intended to be a limited-production model but it proved popular enough to warrant tripling the original production quota to just over 6,300 units. Its turbocharged engine was a polarizing departure from previous M cars, as was its funky styling — and yet, the 1M has gained a substantial and loyal following since production ended in 2012.
• Power comes from a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged N54 inline-6, rated at 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
