Seller Description

This 2011 BMW 1M shows just 29k miles and was sold new in Texas. Acquired by seller a year and a half ago, the car is mechanically unmodified apart from a BSM catch-can and K&N air filter for the twin-turbocharged N54 inline-six. The majority of the suspension is shared with the contemporary M3, including the brakes, limited-slip differential, rear subframe, and aluminum-housing dampers. The last service was performed at 27k miles and included new spark plugs, coolant, and a cabin air filter. Fresh brake, differential, and power steering fluid were also added along with new transmission and engine oil. This 1M is now being offered with a clean Carfax and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car features different bodywork compared to the standard 1-Series, including unique front fenders, rear quarters, bumpers, and valences. This example is equipped with a carbon fiber rear decklid spoiler. An OEM roof rack base bar set is included along with a set of OEM black grilles and black-painted side markers.

The 1M is 71″ wide overall, thanks to a 2.8″ increase in rear track and a 1.8″ increase in front track. The wheel and tire package is shared with the M3 Competition Package, allowing for the same 245/35 front and 265/35 tires, though the seller has recently fitted new Pilot Super Sports rather than the original equipment PS2s.

The 1M is equipped with numerous pieces of Alcantara trim not used on the standard car, including the instrument binnacle, shift boot, and center dash trim. The seller installed a new OEM shift knob, as well as a new BMW M steering wheel with Alcantara rim. Other additions include a set of all-weather floor mats, European-market headlight switch, UV sunshade, rear window mesh screens, and an iPhone/Lightning adapter Y-cable. A set of new carpeted floor mats are also included. All interior features are said to work correctly.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter N54 inline-six which was rated at 335 horsepower and up to 369 lb-ft of torque on overboost. A BMS oil catch can has been added along with a K&N air filter. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential shared with the E90 M3. When the seller acquired the car at 27k miles, they performed numerous services using OEM parts and fluids, except where noted. Work included the following:

  • New gearbox and rear differential oil
  • New spark plugs
  • New cabin filter, Mann FP 8430 Frecious Plus filter
  • K&N air filter cleaned and oiled (K&N filter #33-2367)
  • Oil change with OEM filter and new drain plug washer
  • Coolant flush
  • Steering fluid flush
  • Brake fluid flush and bleed with ATE Typ 200 fluid
  • New OEM windshield wipers
  • Shifter assembly lubricated

A 5.0-liter bottle of CHF11S hydraulic fluid is included along with a Mann cabin filter, Schwaben oil filter housing tool, three OEM oil filters, and a set of OEM jack pad adapters. A set of four Big Red jack stands with BMW jack pad inserts are also included.

The Carfax is attached and shows the history in Texas, New Jersey, Delaware, and ultimately North Carolina with the seller. No accidents or incidents are shown, though BMW’s long-standing airbag recall is shown and remains unresolved by the manufacturer.
